Intro to using forge
Iron Range Makerspace members are invited to attend this free session on learning to safely use the propane forge and anvil in a way that makes the tooling last. Students will heat, hammer, and twist metal to make a small hook using 1/4" square stock.
Registration is required. Please bring a closed lid bottle of water. This class will be conducted indoors.
Closed toe shoes, long pants and sleeves, cotton clothing only (no synthetics). Leather aprons are best but optional.

MacRostie Holiday Marketplace
MacRostie Art Center of Grand Rapids has put out a "Call to artists" and agreed to come to the Iron Range Makerspace to choose items for their "Northern Spirit Shop: A Holiday Marketplace."

Have you ever wanted to learn blacksmithing? Here is your chance! We will make a decorative heart with a coat hook, suitable for Christmas giving. Students will forge, shape, and taper the metal into a heart using a propane forge, indoors.
Ticket cost is $160 for non-members and $140 for members. Bring a bag lunch and closed lid bottle of water. Closed toe shoes, long pants and sleeves, cotton clothing only (synthetics melt). Leather aprons are best but optional.
